No News Is Good News
We haven’t had much time lately to post news, but that’s usually a good sign – it means we’re busy making some behind the scenes upgrades. We will soon switch to a new server, and you will also notice a better interface for submitting files (but I won’t elaborate until it’s not up and running).
I also wanted to remind you that self-promoting your content through content sharing sites (such as Digg and Reddit) or through posting links in appropriate forums helps your content perform better.
That being said, I would also like to remind you that trying to promote your content in inappropriate ways is frowned upon and can lead to account termination. Be fair and legit, that’s all we ask

I’m looking for a content sharing site where people have the same interest that I have. Most sharing sites are into a lot of politics. People get a lot of hits and votes on politics. I’m just not into politics. Promoting is not always easy when it comes to music and art and other things. I see people with 1 vote on a lot of articles. If they get any hits at all, it’s hard to tell. Sometimes I try to communicate with them. But I’m thankful and glad to create for Triond.
so wait im curious if i were to say post links to my mexico pictures on a forum for a runescape game, in an off topic section that’s frowded upon or not?

well if i would write a thread about world of warcraft and would put the link to the article in many wow blogs, would that be inappropriate?
This sounds perfectly fine.
I’ve written a few posts regarding triond and my submissions in my blog. Have I written anything in an inappropriate way? If so, I will gladly refrain from the way I write about my experiences.

When Oren wrote “…trying to promote your content in inappropriate ways…” I guess what he meant was fraudulent ways, such as trying to generate “fake” views for your content etc. Posting links to your content is very appropriate and even recommended.
