Some Changes

As you’ve noticed we’ve been up again as promised, since 02:30 am.

You will also notice changes in the “Publish” screen. Choosing a category to fit your article will now be easier and more precise. For example, if you choose to upload a picture file, you immediately recieve categories that apply to pictures, and if you choose to upload an audio file you recieve categories that apply to audio, etc…

We hope you notice the better server performance, and now that we’ve got this upgrade behind us we can continue and improve the service in other fields.

Oh, and one last thing, you can now see an RSS subscribe button just above the news section in the Triond homepage. You can subscribe to this feed and recieve constant news updates to your favorite RSS reader.

  1. EmF says:

    The category chooser isn’t working.

I’ve tried it using Internet Explorer and Firefox.

With firefox, the category of the file is not recognised. I am invited to choose my own category, but this is never accepted, because I haven’t chosen a category from the main pull-down.

With IE, the pull down allows a choice of several zero-length strings

  2. Currently we indeed have a problem with some versions of IE, and we are working on fixing it.
With Firefox it seems to work.

Anyway, for now we changed it to work without supplying a category, so you can keep submitting.

We hope this will be resolved shortly.

  3. The new categories selection is now up again. It was tested against several versions of all popular browsers, and seems to work fine.

If anyone still encounters problems, please update us by email.

We hope this was a minor glitch caused by the last upgrade, and that we don’t find any other glitches… :)

  4. Dean Mudenda says:

I’ve noticed that when you refresh or hit the back arrow and then forward arrow, after submitting an article, the submission is duplicated. It happened with two of my articles – See, Another Year Is Gone and Remove The Stone.

  5. BloodSin says:

Why cant we have a payment of like 50 cents or something for each article that gets submitted, instead of making a few pennies from views?
Payment from views doesn’t get you alot of money, and I’m trying to pay for runescape membership…

  6. David says:

I have tried IE and Firefox and both don’t work. The same thing always happens.

  7. This bug just keeps bugging us…

We found another problem that in some circumstances prevented users from receiving the categories list, and instead gave the “File type and language unknown …” message. That is fixed now.

Regarding those of you who don’t get any response from the categories, and the category list remains on “Please First Choose a File” – that means javascript is disabled on your browser, and must be enabled in order for you to submit.

We hope this puts it behind us once and for all…

  8. BloodSin,

We believe that paying according to views is the best option for content creators. Paying a fixed price upon submission is unfair to you.

Why should you profit only 50 cents one time, when your article can generate income for the rest of your life? And why receive only 50 cents, when your article’s income potential is higher?

On the long run, Triond is the most beneficial and fair publishing platform for Internet content creators.

  9. Jane Doe says:

I was wondeing why I have the same article published twice when it seems to be the the same website. I seem to only be getting views to one of them. Is there a way of deleteing it?

  10. David says:

What is Javascript and how do I enable it?

  11. Jane Doe,

I guess the article you are talking about is one that has been relocated. Triond’s interface shows both locations – old and new, so you can track both performances. Of course the old one doesn’t gain views anymore and will be gone from the view after a while.
