Triond Has Been Given a Facelift

It’s been some time since we had major news, but with us things are always brewing. Today, we are proud to announce a brand new version of Triond that we hope will improve, excite, and simplify your user experience.

The updated Triond is friendlier than ever, boasting a brand new design that retains the same functionality while introducing some improvements.

New features include:

  • An updated profile page that provides you with an easy-to-read and detailed summary of your portfolio, tags, and friends
  • An improved dashboard, displaying the information you’re used to, but arranged more conveniently
  • A new “Explore” feature that allows you to search published content and other Triond users for items or authors of interest to you
  • A generally friendlier, easier, and more stylish interface

These are just the highlights – we’ll let you explore the rest on your own. We’re sure you’ll get accustomed to the changes right away. (”Where’s that login box? Oh right, it’s there at the top of the page!”)

At Triond, our number one priority is user satisfaction, so we hope that this Triond update will make your experience easier, more productive, and exciting.

Have fun checking out the new version of Triond, and keep publishing!

  1. Patz says:

I like the changes. It looks much more sophisticated now, and indeed exciting. Just great! Keep it up.

  2. Dear sirs/madams,
Just beginning to search its content and function and I like what I see, but I cannot find my name “beauley” and a few friends on Triond. I used to find them under “Prolific” catagory of writers. Am I missing something? Could someone enlighten me? Thank you.
    Lucien Beauley,

  3. Nobody You Know says:

Wow, looks really nice. I actually thought I was at the wrong site when I got on. Nice face lift.

Hope it gets better in the future :D

  4. R J Evans says:

So did I! It came as quite a shock but the new look is very stylish – I much prefer it to the old one already!

  5. Kim Donovan says:

    Hi Lucien,

You can now search for users by going to Explore-> users-> type in the pen name of the user you wish to find. I have also enclosed a link below.

This looks really really nice :d
    Congrats to all Triond staff!

  7. I returned from vacation and found a new sophisticated triond. The new look is so sleek and elegant, and much more easy to navigate too.
    Congrats.

  8. Very nice. Now could we please lengthen the login timeout?

  9. joan says:

great news, i like the new triond now, it looks clean and professional. keep it up!

  10. deepbluesea says:

I love the look of the new site. I just joined last month and love Triond. I am hoping to make some new friends who are interested in creative writing like I am.

  11. adrienne says:

At first I thought I must be on the wrong site. great job!

  12. A. Wolfe says:

Agreed. I very much like the new look.

    A. Wolfe

  13. Athlyn Green says:

Thumbs up for the “Likes” and “Comments” you’ve added. This will help writers to see which topics are popular and will help to shape future articles.

I had suggested this and am so happy to see it implemented!

  14. Athlyn Green says:

Thanks so much for the Content tab, where we can now see Total Earnings!!

  15. Claudette Jones says:

I really like the new, more efficient look.

    Question:
Did the number of views start anew as they do at the end of each month? I like to keep up with that information, and now its pretty lost for the last few weeks. Is there anywhere I can acess that particular information?

  16. Shergill says:

The Changes are really positive. I like them. Keep up the good work.

I also noted that my work gets published sooner.

It would improve the quality of our enterprise if ther were more pictures and fewer spelling mistakes.

  17. Lindsay Dean says:

Looking good! Keep up the great work!

  18. Naina says:

The new look is amazing!!! You rock!!!

  19. Winter says:

    Hi ,
Great facelift, but when i try to submit an article it won’t let me choose a category?!
    Cheers,
    Keep up the good work

  20. Shawny Nevill says:

The new layout looks awesome! I’m going to type a new article right now!

Quick ?, why does it show a different number of views under “dashboard” then it does under content for the month? Thanks

    Shawny

  21. SunGoddess says:

Triond’s new face lift is totally amazing! There are many great features now and I’m sure it wasn’t an easy project. Your time and efforts will be rewarded one day! Job well done!! A huge thanks to you and your entire staff at Triond for making this site a pleasure to visit! =)

  22. Jie T. Elins says:

These new colors are wonderful. I love the change.

  23. Wolfe says:

    Winter,

I am having the same issue. So, I am guessing it has to do with the change. I submitted an e-mail addressing this problem.

Hopefully, it will be addressed soon.

    Wolfe

  24. Hit one of the two major additions needed with the new additions. I’m referring to the content search. I’ve yet to have time to play around with it, but it appears to be what I mentioned in an email a while ago. The second is a forum. Anyways excited to try this out.

  25. Gail Nobles says:

Triond looks beautiful and brand new.

  26. Mitchell says:

This new facelift is amazing. Everything seems to load quicker for me too. Good work Triond staff, keep up the good work.

    ~ Mitchell

  27. Ruby Hawk says:

I thought I was on the wrong site, and it took awhile to find the sign-in. I haven’t fully explored yet but it looks good so far.

  28. Pearl Grace says:

Wow! Just want to say how professional, sleek, and user-friendly the new Triond is! Looks like it took a lot of planning and much work to achieve. Great job!

  29. Claudette Jones says:

Just so nobody bothers to answer the question I asked earlier about the number of views: I found it. Hadn’t looked long enough. Thanks

  30. jhenz says:

Nice changes! But I think it’s not yet done since I still have trouble logging in. And as I observed, the loading takes longer than usual.

  31. karenb says:

Very nice. I like that we now can see the total pagviews and earnings since we started and all the other things too.

  32. elf_fu says:

Fantastic look. It’s very clean, bright, and professional looking. Good job!

  33. Mat says:

I love it! Nice work Triond!

    - Mat

  34. Juan Benavidez says:

I do not like it, because I am color blind and have a difficult time reading the words against a light color background. See, I can not even tell what color the background is nor tell the color of the font. And speaking of fonts, the font is too small. Also, the log in location is at the extreme upper right, which means that one has to scroll the image before one can log in effortlessly. The log in location should be in the middle of the page. If we are given the option to choose our colors, it would help tremendously to us, who are color blind and have difficulty reading small fonts. Thanks!

  35. Nelson Doyle says:

I really like the improvements to the site and the user dashboard. The features are clean and professional-looking that should attract more visitors.

I, too thought at first that I was at the wrong site, but then I realized that a new, improved update had been performed.

Thanks for all of your hard work, Triond!

    God Bless,

    Nelson Doyle

  36. nightcharmer says:

I just joined triond not long ago. Although I was just getting used with the old layout, I am very impressed with the new “mint” look.

I thought I stepped into a different site as well. It looks so futuristic and has a professional touch to it. That sorta give me the motivation to publish more on this pretty site! Oh and did I mention that the website is all the more user-friendly too?

    Great job guys! =)

    nightcharmer

  37. Kim Donovan says:

I want to thank you all for the positive feedback. We are happy you are enjoying the new facelift.

There was a minor glitch with submitting certain file types, preventing access to the categories. This has been fixed, anyone still having problems should email me at support@triond.com.

The search feature has been tweaked to yield more accurate results.

The views on the Dashboard show the number of views from yesterday, and we’ve also added a small date marker for your convenience. The views on the Content page default to the total views for the month, but you can change this by changing the date range. The total views section on the Content page is the cumulative total the content has had since it was first published.

As always, for any other questions, please email me at support@triond.com.

    Best Regards,
    Kim
    support@triond.com

  38. Donna Marie Gray says:

Well, it has taken me over a week to access the new site, but finally, I’m back. I kept getting directed to a page that said “cannot find”.

It looks good. I’ll search around and reacquaint myself with the new changes.

    Congratulations!
    Donna

  39. keyboardologist says:

Nice new look. One thing however, I miss the “recently published” list, and the “prolific” list. Any new Triond members are going to really have to do some marketing and promotion to get noticed now. That’s just my “two cents.”
    Thanks

  40. wicke says:

It’s a facelift, but I don’t actually like it because it’s interactive and includes too much different scripts and animations. It’s not 100 % compatible with Opera Mini anymore. I can’t see the sum when I log in. I have to check my content and count them together to get that sum.

  41. alynking says:

WOW!!! The changes are great!! The site looks totally amazing now and content is easier to find and work with! Nice Job!!!

  42. binkdonk says:

I love it…verrry stylish, and easy to navigate
    http://www.triond.com/users/binkdonk

  43. Naina says:

    You rock guys!!!

  44. Dartman says:

Well done! Still smooth and clean, and easy to navigate. Great improvements from my point of view.

  45. jhenz says:

    Hello Team,

Did I mentioned I love the new look on the “profile summary”?… It’s very compact and neat! I love it…

    Way to go guys! Godspeed!

    Jhenz

  46. I have difficulty to locate my webpage where I have all my articles and photos. Please tell me how to find the link.

  47. Catana says:

Overall, it’s a positive change. But eliminating the listing of new submissions is a step backward. Not everybody gets on the hot list, but now those are the only articles listed. This is particularly disappointing since I hoped for an increase in the number of new articles listed.

  48. Kim Donovan says:

You can get to your personal profile page by clicking on the top-right corner where it says Welcome “username” after you login. The username is actually a link to your profile page.

    Best Regards,
    Kim
    support@triond.com

  49. HBForth says:

It’s okay but I find it hard to read the blue text against the light colours, especially in the daylight when there is screen glare. The BBC recently did the same thing and it really didn’t help. I like the dashboard style though but everything seems to take a lot longer to load now.

    HBForth.

  50. Feiyie says:

I like the changes. Keep it up.

  51. Mr. No One says:

Wow! Great job! Looks sooo much more proffessional

  52. Just a poet says:

great updates, looks so much less bland and so much more professional, I didn’t even recognize it at first look til I saw TRIOND at the top but even the triond logo looks so much better.

    great work, keep it up!

  53. Catana says:

Thank you for your response to my previous post, even if you missed the point. “But eliminating the listing of new submissions is a step backward. Not everybody gets on the hot list, but now those are the only articles listed. This is particularly disappointing since I hoped for an increase in the number of new articles listed.” This wasn’t about my own submissions, but the list of new entries that used to be on the front page of the site. Access to articles and people is now more convenient *if* you know what you’re looking for, but now nobody sees the latest articles to be published. This is a serious omission, especially for newcomers just browsing. It benefits the “hot” articles by making sure they’re the only ones available, and thus get the benefit of more reads, while everybody else gets nothing.

Another thing you might consider is adding links to all the Triond sites in the bottom section, so that people have an easier time finding the ones they may be interested in. The “explore” button might be what’s inteded, but since it’s not active it’s not very helpful. The “contact” button is also dead.

I have to say that although the look has improved, as well as a few features, the attitude still seems to be “do your own publicizing, because we’re not going to give you any exposure unless you’re ‘hot’.” It’s the primary reason I haven’t bothered to do more writing for Triond than I have to this point.

  54. pnkguru says:

    It is really fantastic.

Now it has given the true value to the Triond, by its appearance and professional functions helping the publishers and the viewers.

    Our Success is Guaranteed!
    pnkguru

  55. Meri Jeffrey says:

Hey there! Triond gets better even while we sleep!

  56. Well, I’m now used to the new site. It’s great. I like the fact that I can see which of my articles are doing well at one glance, I love also, that I can see how many view my articles have had in a 24-hour period.

The comment boxes also open up in a new window. I didn’t like having to go back and forth while making comments on other writers pages.

The only thing I miss is the recently published page. I thought that only the top 10 were on the home page until I explored a bit and found ‘explore’ this is fantastic.

I’m still finding cool stuff…, oh, and I can also see my total amount when I sign in. I love this.

Altogether… great! A far cry from a lot of other websites. The best to find my way around I think. (And I know hardly anything about computers)

  57. Kim Donovan says:

Thank you for your suggestions, and we will take them into consideration. The recently published list will be put back in the near future.

Catana- The explore feature is fully functional. If you are still having trouble with it, please email me at support@triond.com.

    Best Regards,
    Kim
    support@triond.com

  58. dayes says:

looks so sleek and sophisticated. it’s awesome!! and i love the improved functionality for viewing managing content.

  59. dayes says:

the revamp looks awesome! it’s so sleek and sophisticated. and i love the new functionality on the Content management page. great job!!

  60. Maybe there is one thing which you could consider adding the next time around. Maybe there could be a link with the author’s name to his/her profile page and not only to the articles he/she had written for that particular website. This could be good for readers to access other type of material by the same author. Thanks

  61. Emma C S says:

Hey, the updates look cool and everything, but the facebook app doesn’t seem to be working anymore. Um… Any chance of it getting fixed?
    Cheers
    Emma C S

  62. Ralph Brandt says:

The new appearance needs some work. Let me give an example. My story “The First Family” shows 184 views on the dashboard but only 60 for this month in the Contents. When it is brought up the item on the screen shows 6 likes, the content shows zero likes.

    There are inconsistencies.

Not a quality programming job. Maybe it should have been run in beta for a while…

  63. Ralph Brandt says:

One more comment, I program php if you need help.

  64. Meri Jeffrey says:

Tell me how to deactivate the names of messages (which I have no use for). This is under a section in the lower right hand corner. I haven’t heard of some of these folk!

  65. Kim Donovan says:

Emma- The Facebook application is fully functional. Please email me at support@triond.com if you are still having problems.

Ralph- There were a couple of glitches with inconsistencies in statistics on the “Content” tab; which are now fixed. If you are still having any trouble, please contact me at support@triond.com.

    Best Regards,
    Kim
    support@triond.com

  66. Meri Jeffrey says:

That is on my dashboard! Please tell me how to delete this info!

  67. Meri Jeffrey says:

One more thing, I got my profile updated, but there is no way that the rest of the world is going to see it. Or is there? I just want my “old doll” back! Just kidding about the old doll!

  68. Emma C S says:

Okay, the facebook app is working apart from the fact it’s not showing any of the stuff I’ve uploaded since the update. Maybe it’s just my profile, I don’t know.

  69. Ralph Brandt says:

Please tell me what was wrong with the old one…

The numbers in the content list are totally wrong. I compared them to ones on items and they don’t match, one of my articles says 22 likes at the bottom, 0 on the content list.

Every one I checked is wrong and I have tried posting likes to try to see them change and they don’t.

Is the accounting portion that calculates payments working?

  70. Emma C S says:

Thanks, the facebook thing’s working now.
Just wondering why the “prolific” and “new content” things were taken off triond’s main page? I liked those.

  71. Christine West says:

It’s Great! A definite improvement. I love it.
    Thanks Triond!

  72. Kim Donovan says:

Ralph – Everything is working properly. The number of comments and number of likes refers to the date range you’re currently watching, so that you can tell how an article performed in a certain period of time compared to other periods. Please pick different date ranges and see that everything matches. For any other questions, please contact me directly by email at support@triond.com.

Meri – On the part of the dashboard you are referring to, you see a summary of messages sent to you. You can go to your Inbox (Community tab) and delete unwanted messages there.

    Best Regards,
    Kim
    support@triond.com

  73. Ralph Brandt says:

If that column called likes is based on the date range (looks like it is) it would be better shown next to the hits and money cols that reflect the date range rather than off to the right of the one that reflects totals. It is confusing at best. The only reason I assumed it was from beginning of time was because of its location.

  74. Ralph Brandt says:

If I want to refer someone to my articles to read right now the only way is to give them the url, http://www.triond.com/user/Ralph+Brandt which is to be quite frank, awkward. Before the “facelift” I could refer them by the Proliferic tab. By removing that and the recently posted sections it would appear that you are trying to funnel hits to the heavy hitters rather than trying to spread you base.

  75. Ralph Brandt says:

One more comment on the above, being able to sort that list for an author in alpha order would be helpful. Triond handling of large documents, like novels, is not elegant, the segments 1.2.3…. 127.128.129 is not easy to read – I have split them into chapters but the editors have modified the chapter names to make it harder for them to be read. When I posted changes some were not made or were altered. Because there is no sequential content by author it is hard to read, people just drop out. I have had notes asking me how to find the next chapter. I have stories that show counts that indicate people find a chapter, then can’t find other chapters. Let me suggest you look at providing a link to the list on the More Articles by Ralph Brandt which is shown at the bottom of the articles.

One of my stories (The Night Sniper) has 353 segments, very hard to read unless you do it in one setting or each time you restart you step in 3 segments at a time till you get where you want to be. I should have posted it as chapters…

  76. Christian Eaves says:

Hi I think the only views I’m getting are from Triond writers only. And I do submit my URL to other site for more views. But there seams to be a problem geting views to my page and I realy need help with it. I can’t even contact Triond on the contact page for some reason. Is the Triond publishers not submitting my articles to many websites for views? Please help
