  2. Brian says:

Yay, I got my first payment. Now I just need to publish more stuff.

  3. Rob says:

Kay, so, I’d just like everyone to know, that I have made 23 cents. :D . But that’s not enough for Paypal, so I’ll for 50 cents. :D , though I’ll probably have to wait another month, but that’s okay. If you want to check out what I’ve written so far, here it is :

Thank you if you do, if you don’t, that’s okay too. :)
    Thanks, Rob.

i get may payment today.. thanks Triond

  5. Dear Triond,

I was wondering if you could make it possible for Triond users to have 2 external links on our bio pages.

A lot of users here have accounts with Digg, Delicious etc (I don’t use them anymore, but I know people who do), and it will make it easier for their friends and fans to follow them to these links from here.

Many other users have blogs and websites (me included), and it would make sense for us to be able to leave a link on our bio pages for easy access.

This would make a lot of sense and allow us to use the site more conveniently. Of course we would not expect to be able to link up to other online writing sites like E-How etc, but, personal links like Facebook etc, shouldn’t pose any competition to Triond. In fact, it would make it even better to use.

Triond is the writing site I would recommend to anyone without reseveration. This addition would only make it even more fantastic.

    What do others think?

    Thanks for payment!

    Anne

  6. Kheng says:

BTW, have checked my PP account. Thanks for the payment.

  7. PEGGYAROGERS says:

I,PEGGY A. ROGERS I AM WANTING TO CHECK ON PAYMENT THAT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE SENT TO ME FOR AUGUST PAYMENTS SENT. THIS WAS SCHEDULED FOR SEPT.15,2008 I DID NOT RECIEVE THE INFORMATION ON MY PAYPAL ACCOUNT OR DO NOT NO IF IT COMES THROUGH WESTERN UNION OR REGULAR MAIL. IS THERE ANY WAY TO FIND OUT THIS ONLINE OR MAYBE CAN YOU SEND ME A REPLY ON MY EMAIL RETURN. I HAVE CONTACTED PAYPAL AND THEY SAY I NEED A TRANSACTION NO# FROM YOU BUT ONE DID NOT COME FOR ME ON MY ONLINE EMAIL ADDRESS. AGAIN MY EMAIL ADDRESS IS peggyrogers01@yahoo.com

  8. Kheng says:

Peggy, maybe you did not get a payment cos you have not reached the minimum payout amount?

  9. Glynis Smy says:

Hi I notice here there are live links to folk profile, as I mentioned before it would be great to see this feature on the comments box, this way it will boost our viewings, when we find new commenters we can go directly to their work without trailing through users list. Thanks again for my earnings, prompt into PP as usual.

  10. Fossa says:

More money for My photographs. Thanks Triond. I did nit crack the $40.00 mark last month but hopefull will this month. I’m half way there!

    http://www.picable.com/photographers/fossa.20167

  11. Kim Donovan says:

Anne, thanks for the suggestion about additions to the profile. Right now you are able to share your articles on certain sites like Digg, Facebook, del.icio.us, and more. All you need to do is mouse over the “Share” arrows when you are in the “Content” tab, and then click on the site where you would like to share your article.

Peggy, please check which method of payment you have selected by signing on and clicking on the “Account” tab. Make sure you have selected PayPal and filled in your email address associated with your account on PayPal. At the end of a month, if you’re balance reaches at least $0.50, then you will receive payment when we issue payments on the 15th of the following month.

Glynis, right now, our comments system allows for anyone (including non-Triond users) to comment, and so there is no way to link directly to a Triond profile. Thanks for the suggestion however, it’s been noted!

    Best,
    Kim

  18. Frenchy says:

hey, I think that it would help if triond had this french website were we could post stuff in french..you know. I know there are spanish ones and like hebrew or sanscrit/arabic ones as well…but just not french…and i’d really like to write in my mother tongue and expresse the same things i do in english, except in french

  19. I do not understand how payments are worked out for example 1 article in aug had 5 hits earning 2 cents sept 91 hits earning 1 cent. I am confused .com

  20. Chris Plyler says:

    TRIOND is AWESOME!!!

  21. G Grissom says:

Yes, I wish someone could explain to me in simplier terms (as if I’m a 4 year-old) about how earnings work.

  22. thestickman says:

“…I wish someone could explain to me in simpler terms (as if I’m a 4 year-old) about how earnings work.”

Others can explain this well, I maybe should not speak out-of-turn here, but I sense frustration and confusion. You need someone to offer assurance.

One of the quickest ways to earn revenue, is to get content uploaded. Simply put, this is the best, first way.
I have about 275 images uploaded, and 15 or 16 ’short stories’, and ’simple recipes’ uploaded. These, do the best.

While there is ‘a formula’ that correctly determines the share of revenue, I am finding that roughly every 7-to-11 ‘views’ of any image, ‘earns’ a penny for me.

On a ‘normal day’, my ‘earnings’ increase by twenty or twenty-five cents-maybe. On one really GOOD day, my earnings jumped by nearly 80-cents!

TEXT content can be more deeply matched with advertising, and yields a better dividend; I have some ‘text’-based content (could be a recipe, could be a short 500-800 word story/blog, etc.) that seems to get ‘a penny’ for every 5-7 views. And it is more indexable, so it would tend to ‘come up’ more often in a SEARCH than just an image alone.

Now here is where it gets **very fun*… articles AND images submitted might be ‘popular’ for a few days (getting a few hundred ‘hits’ and earning 20-50 cents) then, it drops to just 2 or 3 ‘hits’ per day for a week or three. This has happened a lot with most of my content.

Then mysteriously, an image or story gets ‘rediscovered’ and it starts getting DOZENS of hits/views daily again! It earns you “royalties”, -more income! The other night, a recipes that had been ‘dormant’ for about a month, got 45 hits by 7PM, up to 94-hits by 10-PM, 124-hits by 10:30-PM, etc… Somehow, this ‘article’ got re-discovered and it was getting ‘views’.

I have several images that have enjoyed a ’second coming’ and bring me nickels and dimes. -Sounds like a pittance sure, -but if one were to have 50 or 100 such entities out there, STUMBLED and DUGG’d etc., it begins to add up.

Patience, perseverance, good content, MORE content, WRITTEN articles, and SHARED through even some of the content-sharing listing sites provided, -all good.

Hang in there and don’t give up. After you get a payment or two, this becomes easier and well, -addictive! ;-)

  23. G Grissom says:

    thestickman,

I do appreciate your taking time out and explaining how things work. I understand it a little better now. I was also wondering if how many times a piece has been marked “I Like It” have anything to do with the amount of money earned? Also, does anyone know what is read or looked at the most? Meaning, are there certain topics that generate more views than others? Do pictures do better or poems or articles?

  24. thestickman says:

“…wondering if how many times a piece has been marked “I Like It” have anything to do with the amount of money earned?”

Probably not, but each “I like it” IS a unique ‘view’. Monitor those… content that has the MOST “I like it”(s) are the topics/content you want to continue with, do more of! :-) Think about it… if they LIKE it, they will VIEW it (possible more than once, share it, forward it, etc.)
-It’s more of a ‘tracking tool’ I think. A view does not have to include a “liked” but it too is ‘counted’. I like to watch the “likes” too… so see if I hit upon something that my fanbase loves and wants to see more of…

re: “…Also, does anyone know what is read or looked at the most? Meaning, are there certain topics that generate more views than others? Do pictures do better or poems or articles?”

From the general ‘FAQs’, there is this which might help:

(reminder: I’m just another Triond user and FAN of same… just offering my advice and not necessarily that of this wonderful service)

  25. G Grissom says:

    thestickman,

Well, I certainly do appreciate all of your help just the same! You clarified A LOT for me. You have obviously been at this for awhile and I, for one, am glad that you not only know what’s going on but that you offered your advice! Thanks so much! I may be able to get this thing going for me after all because of your help!! Again, THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

  26. I am just now getting to a dollar and have been on since the end of July. I wish that I would bring in much more money so that I wouldn’t have to have a 9 to 5 job. I want to get published. I hate being in the welfare system and trying to get my poems published. I love the feedback that I get from people but I try to read everyone’s work so that they will read mine. My family and friends have been great support but I want this more than anything. Thanks for everyone’s help and support. Jackie and Thanks Triond.

  27. everytime i earned just a single $.01 for my articles, that was automatically shows in my next payment overview, but this month of october, i earned $1.68 for my hot content article, my next payment overview are still the same, the $1.68 didnt added to my next payment? please help me!

  28. thestickman says:

“next payment” on Oct. 15th, is from September’s work (last month’s). What you ‘earn’ starting Oct. 1rst, will be “October’s payment” and will be issued November 15th, etc… There is a 15-day ‘hold’ at the END of each month while Triond collects the payments from the advertisers, as I understand it.

After the FIRST of every month, your “next payment” shows LAST MONTH’S earnings, and it stops being incremented.
-It’s a little confusing to understand at first but you’ll get used to it. :)

  29. Sam Murray says:

You think 23 cents is bad! I’ve got 5 for October’s payment! I’ll try not to spend it all at once! Hopefully now I’ve uploaded my entire collection I should get more interested. Take a look https://www.triond.com/users/Sam+Murray

  32. Thorne says:

Are there any guidelines as to article length? And what about serial articles covering a number of sub topics??

  33. thestickman says:

Some Triond writers of reasonable success have written articles that deal with this very subject.
A good topic, well-written (no spelling mistakes, use correct grammar, and be ACCURATE in your facts), etc. all help greatly.

A 500-600 word article is about the length of a good ‘article’ but it can be longer. It can be shorter. I notice that multi-article topics tend to less well than ONE longer article e.g., “Dog Obedience: I”, “Dog Obedience: II”, “Dog Obedience: III”, etc. Tends to do less-well than “Dog Obedience” and be 3, 4 or 5+-pages long… Don’t feed me content in ‘chapters’ unless you are writing a BOOK. ;-)

Also, from a Technical Writer’s perspective, don’t write ‘purple prose’, -TELL the story, don’t SHOW the story: if the hero “…rode his horse through the night to warn the villages of the~…”, this is what you write, not “…her long blond hair was flowing and waving at the night sky like the ocean currents caress the sands as she galloped her dark steed endlessly through the forbidden and forest blanketed in fog…, etc.” …leave some room for the reader’s imagination. Let the READER fill-in some blanks… it will make the story ‘come alive’ for the reader if THEY are allowed to create some literary illusion on their own..

Writing in ‘active voice’ instead of ‘passive voice’, -make stories and article FAR more interesting to read.

And of course, -LOTS of content! -Create articles, upload, promote, share!

This is a lot of FUN, -addictive and you’ll enjoy it alot! ;-)

Wow! This is really exciting! Thank you for such practical data. The passion and fun is coming through loud and clear. Inspirational! Thanks!

  35. Thorne says:

    Heya Stickman!
Thanks much for the insight on the serial articles. I’m pleased to see one of my articles up and published already, and am hoping to see the other 4 I have submitted up soon.

  37. Paula Mitchell-Bentley says:

Does anyone know how one would go about becoming an editor for Triond? It just seems to me that that job would be so much fun — you’d get to read all kinds of things. And of course, I’m already reading and writing tons of stuff anyway! Triond admin and users — any ideas???
