Your Comments, Your Identity
October 29, 2008
New feature! New feature!
Now, when you leave a comment on an article published on Triond’s network, you can sign in with your Triond user name and password. This new feature places a link to your public profile from your name, allowing others to go directly to your work from your comment. It also helps to prevent identity theft, as sadly, this was a recent problem coming from within the community. Signing in lets everyone know that it’s really you who’s leaving the comment. Just one more way Triond is working speedily – limiting the impact of issues as they arise!
And if we don’t say it enough, once more can’t hurt: we love reading your feedback and suggestions. Comments on the Triond blog and on your articles are a great element of our vibrant, growing community. Just remember to post responsibly. Your comments represent you, so make sure you think before you write. Will your comment or post expose too much information about yourself? Could it offend another user? We don’t want to censor because we believe in freedom of expression. After all, that’s what Triond is all about.
We hope you enjoy the newest feature. Happy publishing!

Thank you very much for this wonderful new feature as it is very helpful to prevent identity theft. I like Triond very much for their immediate response towards the problems of writers.
October 29, 2008 at 10:03 am
Thanks Triond! Another great addition. Maybe you could also consider a forum later on?
October 29, 2008 at 10:10 am
At last, the announcement!
I actually submitted an article about this just today. If you would approve that article, I would have to update it.
Thanks for the new feature!
October 29, 2008 at 11:48 am
Wonderful idea.
October 29, 2008 at 11:48 am
This is great. With this added feature, others can’t use somebody’s name anymore in posting nasty comments. Thanks Triond, more power.
October 29, 2008 at 12:35 pm
great! nice new feature..
October 29, 2008 at 12:57 pm
This is a great idea.
October 29, 2008 at 1:03 pm
This is wonderful! Pure genius!
It’s my first time to see and use it today, and it’s such a comfort that we now have this tool so people know that the person who signed our name in the comments box is really us.
This is an invaluable feature, Triond. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
October 29, 2008 at 1:50 pm
Why did you make it optional instead of making it required. This will eliminate the proble altogether and we will not have to wonder who the real commenter is.
October 29, 2008 at 1:55 pm
Another suggestion – why don’t you have the same policy here on the blog?
Your idea is great and you deserves all the praises in the comments.
October 29, 2008 at 1:58 pm
This is just fantastic feature! I love it! Not only we’ll know who is actually leaving the comment, it is also a great way to get exposure to profile!
Thanks for everything you do!
October 29, 2008 at 2:01 pm
Thank you for listening!! Great work!!
October 29, 2008 at 2:14 pm
Thanks, Triond.
I’m getting to love your site!

I can’t believe how quickly Triond responds to it’s users questions, problems and issues. I wrote an article about this yesterday entitled Triond’s Major Flaw and had to update it twice before it was even released! You guys are just doing an awesome job. Keep it up.
October 29, 2008 at 2:43 pm
Excellent news! I use a pen name for my on-line writing, but it is still nice to know that my work and my identity are being protected. Thank you for thinking of everyone.
October 29, 2008 at 2:44 pm
Whenever I’ve tried to sign in, I get the message at the top of the page ‘bad security string. comment can’t be posted’ and I have checked that the username and password I entered were correct. This was on Authspot, not tried on any other sites as of yet. I just wondered whether this is a problem with me or generally??
Any help appreciated guys.
October 29, 2008 at 2:49 pm
I just found another great feature to the new identity addition. Anyone who uses it has a click-able name for others to find them easier. This is a great idea.
Sometimes I am a little slow…
October 29, 2008 at 3:08 pm
This is a great feature. It allows the reader to quickly visit the writer/postee’s content.
I do however wish that as a Triond user posting using this feature, we could be exempt from having to also use the CAPTCHA feature. CAPTCHA prevents spam-bots/machines and such from posting ‘SPAM’ in forms, but having previously signed-in AS a valid Triond user, -we are still subjected to having to prove that we ‘are human?’ We do not have to fill-in CAPTCHA when we login, but we have to when we POST a Comment? Double redundancy here.
CAPTCHA should only be required for non-Triond members, people with the automated feature, people such as the casual visitor whom found the article and decided to post-up a comment.
Eh?

Speed Limit, making it mandatory would mean that people from outside Triond would not be able to comment without signing up. This is a deterrent to potential commentators.
I’ve been on sites where you couldn’t comment without signing up. In these cases, I just don’t bother. Triond is unlike this, that is why it’s so popular. It’s a small price to pay, for us writers to be able to get comments from the general public.
I’ve had comments from people who felt my articles have helped them, people asking for advice etc. This wouldn’t have been the case if Triond made it compulsory to have an account before you can leave a comment.
One person even thanked me (well, he didn’t know that I had nothing to do with it) for not making him sign up before he could ask me a question about something I had written.
This is another great addition Triond. It makes it easier for people to find us from the comments we make on others’ pages. This will give us an added incentive to work harder at being more responsible for what we say and how we say it.
Don’t worry, I’m done now…
Leaving…
I’m out the door.
October 29, 2008 at 5:16 pm
Thanks for this update, it will certainly bring some positive results for those of us that want more reads and for everyone. Great work!
October 29, 2008 at 5:20 pm
Just a suggestion:
After we’ve logged in to our accounts, and go to friends’ articles to leave comment, is it possible to have it automatically logged in too?
This would cut down a great deal of time typing in each different websites for us!
Thanks for everything you do!
October 29, 2008 at 8:39 pm
very nice!!!

Thanks for the info. I look forward to finding out more. How many hits is required to make the hot list?
Do teachers have more pull here as they can galvanise the hundreds of fingers and thousands of eyes of thier pupils?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank-you, James
October 30, 2008 at 2:31 am
I’m very excited about this update as it will increase Triond users’ views, comments, ratings, etc. I’m just afraid that there will be more spam for views. So all who read this please do not spam people’s articles for views. That just brings down your reputation and people look down upon you. You become known as a spammer…don’t do it!
October 30, 2008 at 3:39 am
Nice touch. Thanks for the responsiveness. I also agree with stickman’s suggestion.
October 30, 2008 at 4:31 am
I can’t wait to get feedback on my writing and I can’t wait too enjoy reading other writer’s too. At the very least i am excited. I am a very long beginner writer at the age of 23. I hope my experience can help more people in my age group and younger express themselves better. It would help a great deal writing does help too heal pain.
October 30, 2008 at 8:47 am
Finally this happened.
Recently a fellow writer had this problem happen to them. Someone went around posting rude comments using my fellow writers name.
October 30, 2008 at 10:01 am
*dances*
Thank you Triond!! You’re amazing!
October 30, 2008 at 1:47 pm
Nice feature…
Thanks, Triond…
October 30, 2008 at 3:51 pm
Great idea! I oftened tried to reach a writer after they commented on something that I wrote, but it was more difficult. This gives us an opportunity to get to the person immediately.
Thanks for your work.
October 30, 2008 at 4:27 pm
Actually I posted something about this a couple days ago. I have someone who posts the same nasty comment repeatedly to my items, they are personal attacks, not related to the articles in any way. I have been deleting and he raised the tone of the rhetoric…
He is anonymous and irresponsible….
Thanks…

Did the interface to stumble change or did I change something.
I now get a different screen when I click on the share button on the content list.
October 30, 2008 at 5:39 pm
Very interesting! To those who do not know, if you click anyone’s name on their comment here, you will go right to their website. Try it.
Thanks Triond
October 30, 2008 at 6:07 pm
Cool! I was wondering why this website didn’t have this option.
October 30, 2008 at 6:08 pm
Okay…why didn’t it work for mine?
October 30, 2008 at 7:26 pm
Thanks I like the new feature. I hate some of the nasty comments with very dirty words. I think it is unnessary to hurt someone.
October 31, 2008 at 1:51 am
finally, people will not learn to copy other peoples name.
October 31, 2008 at 2:07 am
I am so grateful to Triond for their hard work in keeping abreast of the issues facing us while keeping an open mind regarding topics and freedom of speech.
I have been a victim of some pretty nasty comments, but at Triond we have the option to delete. At some other sites we must face this comment repeatedly until enough fellow writers flag it.
As we know there are those who leave uncalled for derogatory comments for whatever reason and then climb back under their rock. They have the “right” to leave an alias of their choice while the writer’s, identity is posted for the world to see.
I welcome thoughts and comments, even if they are in disagreement, but insults and profane language does not serve any useful purpose. And if they want to pick apart and criticize in a harmful way, why can’t they address the issues one on one in the community, leaving a name to respond to?
Thank you, Triond, for striving to make our family’s work place a safer and more suitable environment for the exchange of ideas. It is only when one feels safe can they truly be creative.
October 31, 2008 at 5:29 am
Very good work. I have long wondered why this was not an option.
October 31, 2008 at 2:46 pm
That’s nice I like it.
October 31, 2008 at 6:53 pm
Thank you, Triond, for this feature – I really like it. I agree with thestickman – we shouldn’t have to use the captcha field when using our Triond credentials.
I have a concern about security: It seems that our passwords are sent in clear text. If we use ‘HTTPS’ instead of ‘HTTP’ when viewing an article, will the passwords then be encrypted?
October 31, 2008 at 8:43 pm
Well done! But, can the tick box for triond credentials comes first before the code submitting box.
More power Triond.
November 1, 2008 at 1:07 am
Wow thanks for finally putting up this feature… =)
November 1, 2008 at 12:13 pm
Hello,
There is a discrepancy between what is shown on my “Dash Board” and the published content. The differences are in both the total amount & the number of likes. Also, the number of likes has decreased compared to yesterday.
Please let me what is going on!!!
November 1, 2008 at 1:06 pm
Thanks, Triond. This is certainly a very welcome new feature!
More power!
November 1, 2008 at 4:47 pm
pls i need my link so that i can place on social book marking sites
November 1, 2008 at 9:49 pm
Now all we need is a link between our own articles and Triond’s other network sites. Perhaps when you click the authors name at the top, some of that authors works from other sites can be shown as well?
November 2, 2008 at 12:24 am
As an Aussie writer, I discovered that you only accept the American form of spelling of words;eg.,Flavour v Flavor, Colour v Color. This is something I would like to make other Aussie writers be aware of when submitting articles.
Over all, I am thrilled to be a part of Triond. It has truly opened up my world!
Thanks a million, Triond.
November 2, 2008 at 4:31 am
This new feature is great as I can see in all the positive comments.
November 2, 2008 at 6:05 am
This was one of the bigger problems with commenting not to long ago. I know I was personally affected by this with people commenting on others work as me.
November 2, 2008 at 7:38 am
i think this new’s is interesting & great feelings of all creative step to the endless earth & Triond open it to all of us, so, it’s a new thrill for me. WOW!!!!
November 2, 2008 at 1:09 pm
Thanks for this great feature.
Many thanks, Triond!
November 2, 2008 at 4:45 pm
Dear Triond, could I please make a suggestion about this new feature.
At the moment we have to first write in our name in the top box, then write in a code, tick a box to comment with our Triond credential, then write our name in AGAIN, before putting a password in.
While I love this new feature, it’s fussy and takes a long time. My suggestion is that we choose to either comment with our triond credentials, or without. If we do choose to use the former option, can you make it so that we’re only putting in our name once and bypassing the code system?
The code system can therefore still be used for people commenting (who’re not Triond users). Triond users will use the second option, thus minimizing the amount of time it takes to make a comment.
Does this make sense?
I don’t want to seem ungrateful about this, because it is a positive addition to Triond’s already superior user-friendly site. However, I think that this could be simplified a bit.
Thanks for all you do.
Anne
November 2, 2008 at 9:20 pm
I do use a pen name for my writing, however it is reassuring to know that Triond is doing it’s best by implementing all these safe guards for all.
Thanks Triond and keep up the good work.
November 3, 2008 at 12:03 am
I really feel great to be part of Triond family. We are taken cared of. Thanks a lot and more power. God Bless.
November 5, 2008 at 7:05 am
Thanks to Triond, we can fully live to our dreams of writing!
November 5, 2008 at 3:43 pm
i have not recieved mymoney on my paypal account which is rahman_abdul69@yahoo.com
November 8, 2008 at 9:15 pm
Thanks… Thats all i can say. Although im trying a figure out a sound marketing strategy. Working on it
November 9, 2008 at 8:48 pm
With all the millions of sites out there, why did we choose this one? Because it is the best. I personally find it rewarding and it is not because we make cents, but because they make sence. The other sites are ok, but i, being a published author needed a place to go and now I can say, home sweet home.
November 10, 2008 at 2:30 am
I have a question please—-what happens to articles hat we send in and we never see them published, are they rejected if you never see them printed
thank you
betty crawford
November 10, 2008 at 4:09 am
If Triond beleives in freedom of expression, then why was a short story of mine rejected because it had no title? When in fact, it did indeed have a title, which was “A Story”. That was the title. Did they not understand that? Or was it just too outside of the box and unusual for a story to be titled “A Story”? Perhaps it was just too creative and expressive.
November 11, 2008 at 10:51 pm
People express themselves all the time and in many different ways, some people write poems, others write articles and books. It is a natural born freedom that we have to be able to communicate and express your opinions and mind. You shouldn’t make it so easy for people to take that freedom away from you.
November 14, 2008 at 7:52 am
I’m so excited to be using this site! I can’t wait to see the benefits of having my work showcased in this format.
All the best!
~ Marilen

Yeah Triond is always thinking innovation. Anything new is always commendable and now this additional feature. gr8
November 17, 2008 at 5:11 pm

November 17, 2008 at 7:20 pm
i had spaces to make stanzas in my poem but i didn’t find them there
November 18, 2008 at 12:35 am
aww wow i am really excited about this site! i hope this really works before i add all my good stuff to this site! so far i love it!!
November 18, 2008 at 5:52 pm
my friends have viewed my work, sent it to others and still my earnings is still zero. this is discouraging,
pls how and when do i get to earn
November 20, 2008 at 7:00 pm
Thanks Triond! I am glad it was said…and then said again. Commenters should rethink their comments before they post. Bad comments come from bad writers, it seems. The helpful commenters seem to be the successful writers. It is very sad that identity theft was an issue here, within our ‘family’.
November 20, 2008 at 11:32 pm
