Solved: Submission Problem

There was a problem submitting content for the last 15 hours. It was just solved and everything should be back to normal. No data was lost.

It was one of these little things that you do in the back office (with intent to improve the service), which cause a chain reaction which in the end, affects all kind of functionalities that you didn’t think it would. In this case, submitting content. As soon as we discovered it, we worked intensely to resolve the issue and I am happy to say now that it was resolved.

Again, we deeply apologize for the inconvenience and we thank you for your patience.

Cheers peeps! I was starting to get worried yesterday when I couldn’t publish a few articles and I thought it was just me!
    Thanks a lot!

  3. thestickman says:

Is there a problem also causing those “500 Internal Server Error” messages that comes up on Authspot?

  4. estelle says:

@thestickman – It doesn’t appear to be the same problem. Thank you for alerting us of this. We will look into it shortly.

  5. Elizabeth says:

    Fantastic,

  6. Elizabeth says:

GIt is great that I can submit article, but it seems that I am unable to get into my own article on line, nor can I read anyone elses. It seems to cause my computer to lock up!!??

  7. qazzaq222 says:

thx, it was driving my crazy

  8. ashan1614 says:

I have been having the same problem as Elizabeth. I can’t read anyone’s article online; the page freezes. Is someone looking into this? I would hate to think people are missing out on views because no one is able to view their work.

  9. estelle says:

@ashan1614 – Could you please be more specific about what is happening such as: What do you mean that the page “freezes?” Do you see the article at all? Does an error message pop up? I just sent you an email regarding this matter. It would be great if you could respond with these answers in an email back to me. Thanks!

  10. ashan1614 says:

I can see whatever part of the article can be seen on the page without scrolling down. I am unable to scroll to the bottom of the article to read the entire content or to leave a comment. I’ve gotten the “500 Internal Server Error” a few times, but mostly I just get the general “internet explorer is not responding”.

  11. VB545323 says:

Hey, Thanks! You guys fixed that so fast!

  12. I got that ‘internal error’ message as well as not being able to leave comments. I’ve also had a very frustrating problem in trying to add pictures. They all go to the very top of the article no matter where my cursor is. I then have to cut and paste each one until they’re in the right spot.

  13. estelle says:

@Anne Lyken-Garner – I just emailed you with some questions that might help us solve these issues. If you could please respond via email, that would be great. Thanks!

  14. qazzaq222 says:

i dunno when it happened, but i recently found out that half of my article was cut off, i am 100% sure that, that wasnt the way it was yesterday.

  15. kathie107 says:

Im glad everything works just fine now! :D

  16. I was wondering about that. Thanks. I thought it was something I hit on the keyboard. Thank Goodness Im not that mechanicall inept.

  17. estelle says:

@qazzaz222 – Are you still having this problem? If so, please send us the link to the article that is cut off. Thanks!

  18. CaSundara says:

I’ve had articles pending for around twelve hours now – is this usual? (I’m new here.)
Also, if I fix an article before it’s published the fix doesn’t show so I have to re-edit it once published. Is this normal?
    Thanks.

  19. estelle says:

@CaSundara – It usually takes up to 2 hours for content to publish but sometimes it can take up to 24 hours.

I checked your account and saw that you have no items left in pending so I’m assuming your content went through.

If your fixes did not translate, please go ahead and make them now. To submit a fix please do the following:

    1. Sign in to Triond and click on the “Content” tab.

    2. In the list of published content, find the article you wish to fix and click on the icon that looks like a pencil. You’ll find this icon toward the right hand side of the row under the column titled “Fix”.

    3. Edit your article. Take care not to delete anything by mistake, as your work can not be restored to previous versions once the new fixed version is published.

    4. Tell us the reason why you are submitting a fix.

    5. Click on Submit.

Your article will be sent to the Triond Editorial Team for processing and you will receive a message once the article has been fixed.

  20. qazzaq222 says:

  24. thestickman says:

    My published article:

    http://webupon.com/web-talk/wiki-something-user-contributed-dictionaries-of-fandom/

is severally messed-up. the default formatting is causing over-lapping of text and images. It has been this way for a few days now.

I sent a note to “Contact Us” but maybe here is faster. Also, the “Contact Us” form is ‘messed up’ also… the titles for entering text are not aligned with the proper fields.

    thanks

I have had some articles in pending now for over 24 hours. Is this normal? My pictures went up within 5 minutes which I was happy about but my articles have taken forever and it is making me sad :(

How old do you have to be to have a Paypal account?

  30. estelle says:

@Jane Benitez – I found no problems with your account. Could you please be more specific regarding the details of your problem? Are your articles getting declined? Please respond via email: support [at] triond [dot] com

  31. estelle says:

@AppleDuck – While content usually gets published in about 2 hours, sometimes it can take up to 24 hours or longer if it is a holiday or weekend. Our editors will take a look at your content and you should receive an email notification shortly.

Regarding PayPal: To be eligible for their services, I believe you must be at least 18 years old, but please check their website’s user agreement that relates to your country of residence: https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=xpt/UserAgreement/ua/USUA-outside

  33. Lindalulu says:

Seems Triond is ahaving a lot of issues lately…hope they get solved soon!

  34. Arri London says:

    Hello

Since recently *forcing* us to choose images for article submissions, have been unable to submit an article very often. The server just locks up and nothing happens.
Why are we being forced to choose an image? People with visual difficulties (ie me) can’t see the thumbnails very well. When asked to choose an image, nothing happens. No image and the article doesn’t go through. It worked fine before being made to choose an image. Do we get a choice here?
    Thanks!

  35. estelle says:

@Arri – In order for Triond’s publisher to work faster posting everyone’s articles, we have recently changed choosing a thumbnail image from being optional to being mandatory.

Thumbnail images rely solely on the tags that you enter for your content. In order for this feature to work properly, make sure you enter tag words that relate to your content subject. To pull up the most relevant thumbnails for your content, make sure that the first 3 tags you enter are most relevant to your content’s topic.

Once your article is published, you’ll see your selected thumbnail appear next to the title and description of your article where it’s listed on the site of publication.

  36. kudlakori2 says:

I am a newly starting journalist…how long do you usually wait for your article to be published? Thanks =D

  37. estelle says:

@thestickman – Your article has been fixed. There should be no image and text overlapping now. The reason for this problem is that the images were surrounded by h3 tags. They were removed and all is back to normal.
    Thank you for your patience!

  38. i need reason to be cleared on why my articles can not be published

  39. estelle says:

@sunday – I saw no problems with your account. You have one published item, no pending items and no declined items. If you have a specific problem please enter your query in our Community Help Center here: http://www.triond.com/help
